A tap-rooted herbaceous perennial with attractive blue flowers native to Europe and Western Asia.
It is a very adaptable and drought-tolerant, useful plant for reclamation, cottage gardens, mass plants and cottage gardens.
A good pollinator plant for the garden attracts bees and other beneficial insects.

Chicory roots can be used as a coffee substitute, and many varieties are cultivated for salad leaves.
Grow notes:

Prefers well-drained soil but grows well in almost any garden soil in a sunny position.
