A medium to tall tree growing up to 30 metres depending on the conditions with a thin grey to red-brown stringy bark.
Flower buds are green and conical with yellow peaked caps. The white flowers appear in spring and summer are a major source of pollen for the bee-keeping industry.
Native to the coastal regions of New South Wales and Queensland.
Prefers a moist well-drained soil in a protected sunny position, drought and frost tender.
Although seed can be sown most of the year around if you avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year, the best time to sow is generally spring.
Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C
