A small tree or mallee with a rough-barked trunk that is complimented with a lovely smooth grey bark on the branches.
Green-yellow flower bud caps open to a creamy yellow flower up to 5cm across. Flowers appear in late winter through to December.

Not often cultivated which is a pity as it is a great honey-making tree attracting the birds and bees when in flower. A good windbreak tree.
Endemic to the central wheat belt region of Western Australia.

Prefers a well-drained sandy soil in an open sunny position, drought resistant and frost tender when young.
