Carne's Blackbutt boasts an attractive smooth, shiny bronze-coloured trunk, the flower buds form in groups of 7 and open to display creamy white flowers typically between February and May.
Young plants and coppice regrowth have dulled greyish, lance-shaped leaves that measure 80-110 mm in length and 17-30 mm in width and the mature adult leaves are dull grey-green on both sides, lance-shaped, and measure 83-145 mm in length and 15-30 mm in width on a petiole that is 13-23 mm long.
A lignotuber-forming species that occurs naturally in the inland regions of Gascoyne, Great Victoria Desert, and Murchison in Western Australia.
Although seeds can be sown most of the year if you avoid the coldest and hottest months, spring is generally the best time to sow.
The grow mix should be well-draining, preferably with organic compost. This will replicate the soil they require in nature.
A potting mix is not recommended.
Germination occurs in around 10-28 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C
