Eucalyptus platypus is a Western Australian shrub or small tree that is variable in height depending on the conditions.
Prefers a light to medium poorly drained soil in an open sunny position, drought and frost resistant. Particularly suited to heavy soils as it will tolerate some water logging.
Although seed can be sown most of the year around if you avoid the coldest and hottest months of the year, the best time to sow is generally spring.
Germination generally occurs in around 10-28 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C
