The honeymoon series of hibiscus is a first-generation hybrid that forms a short compact plant and produces large velvety red 15-20 cm flowers.
Flowering occurs throughout the summer months until the chilly temperature arrives in late autumn.
An ideal variety for pots and containers.
Hibiscus are heat-loving plants, prune after flowering, for next year's flowering.

Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in a sunny position.

Grow notes:

Hibiscus requires heat to germinate. Can be grown early inside heat can be maintained or outside once the weather warms. They can also be started on a moist paper towel in a zip bag and kept warm. Although not necessary it has the benefit of being able to see when they start to sprout. See this YouTube Germinate Video

  1. Sow seed indoors 6-12 weeks before the last frost.
  2. Soak seed overnight.
  3. Sow the large seed 6-8mm deep into well-draining soil and keep it at 60% humidity.
  4. After 4-5 weeks, transplant into larger pots, taking care not to disrupt the taproot.
