Kohlrabi are both attractive and unusual. The edible part is the fat turnip like swollen stem just above the soil level. this is best eaten when not much larger than 7.5cm (3”) in diameter.
It has a pleasant delicate nutty flavour served raw in salads, stir fried for Asian dishes or cooked like Turnips.
A colourful flavourful vegetable with a mild sweet flavour. This variety has purple skin with crisp white flesh.
Prefers moist fertile well-drained soil but grows well in almost any garden soil in a sunny position.
