An attractive small, compact, rounded shrub that produces a profusion of pink-purple to white-cream rounded flowers from September to December in its natural range. Leaves are linear to lance-shaped with the narrower end towards the base, about 1–7 mm long and 0.5–2 mm wide.
Good bird-attracting plant for the winter garden.

This hardy shrub grows well in most areas where the soil is well-drained.
Prefers a light to medium well-drained dry, rocky soil in an open sunny position, drought-resistant but frost tender.

Occurs naturally in the Avon Wheatbelt, Esperance Plains, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest, Mallee, Swan Coastal Plain, and Warren in Western Australia.

Generally best sown in spring or autumn avoiding the coldest and hottest months of the year. The optimum germination temperature for germination is around 18-22°C

Sow the seed on the surface of a porous seed-raising mix and sprinkle a very light covering of the seed-raising mix over the seed. Do not bury the seed deeply.

Seeds generally sprout well when sowed in seed-raising mixes, however, the seedlings may be susceptible to a disease called "damping off". To reduce the risk of this disease, it is recommended to keep the seeds moist but not overwatered. The germination process should take around 14 to 30 days, depending on the species of plant.

*Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
