African Marigold ‘Crackerjack’ is an old-fashioned heirloom cultivar with large, showy, carnation-like flowers in shades of gold, orange and yellow deep orange double flowers that grows to 90 cm tall. A very early and free-flowering variety.
Blooms over a long season from late spring to late autumn.

Marigolds have edible petals that can be added to salads for a sweet or savoury flavour.

Recommended for beds & borders, cut flowers or mass plantings.
Also useful as a companion plant to control insect pests in the vegetable garden.

The flowers are used for natural dyes in food and fabrics.

Tagetes erecta is native to Mexico despite being often referred to as African marigold. The Aztecs gathered the wild plant as well as cultivated it for medicinal, ceremonial and decorative purposes.

Adaptable to most garden soils in an open sunny position.
