Germination of the seed of Melaleuca species is usually quite easily raised through normal methods without any special treatment. The best time to sow the seeds is in spring or autumn, avoiding the hottest and coldest months. The ideal temperature for germination is around 18-22°C.
Simply sow the seeds on the surface of the growing mix and press them lightly into the surface.
Avoid burying the seeds. Keep the growing mix warm and moist, without letting it dry out or become waterlogged.
Germination usually occurs within 14 to 30 days, depending on the conditions and species of the seed.
