Growing only 10-15 cm tall, Five-Spot thrives in full sun to shade and is an excellent plant for shady borders. Plants grow best with adequate moisture.
The flowers are bowl-shaped consisting of five white petals, each with a purple-spotted, hence the common name. The leaves are up to 3 centimetres long and 1.5 wide.

Nemophila is a species of flowering plant in the Borage family, Boraginaceae is an annual that flowers in the spring.

Five-Spot is a California native annual that grows on mesic to moist slopes and flats, below 2,286 metres (7,500 ft) elevation, west of the Sierra Nevadas but is also planted extensively in gardens.

Adaptable to most garden soils but prefers rich well-drained soil in an open sunny position.

Sow: 3mm deep
