A very attractive poppy with shining crimson single blooms with a black centre on each petal which resembles a ladybird's spots. Poppies are always more dramatic when planted in mass, a must for every spring garden. Self-sows freely.

Adaptable to most well-drained garden soils in an open sunny position. Tolerant to poor sandy soils and drought and frost resistance.

Grow notes:

Tropical: Autumn to early winter.
Temperate: Late summer and autumn.
Cold: Late summer and early autumn.

Sow: 2-3mm deep, cover lightly and gently firm.
For best results sow directly into the soil where they are to grow. If grown early indoors use a growing container that can be planted directly into the soil such as jiffy pots as seedlings do not like root disturbance.
Germination: 10-14 days.
Plant space: 20-30cm
Flowering: 20 weeks

Feed with a soluble fertiliser every two weeks for stronger plants.
