Blue Pepe is a unique variety of Nasturtium from Europe originally bred for culinary use with small round leaves which are steel blue on top and purplish undersides and vivid dark red flowers.
The young leaves have a peppery onion flavour and the flowers have a sweet taste which can both be added to salads.
Nasturtiums make excellent bedding plants and are also good for growing in rockeries, troughs, tubs, or large hanging baskets.
Adaptable to most conditions prefers well-drained moist soil but also tolerates nutritionally poor soil.
