Begin the Nasturtium season a little sooner with this early bloom dwarf, non-trailing Nasturtium 45cm tall.
Whirlybird is one of the earliest to bloom, the semi-double flowers are 5-7 cm in size face upward above the compact foliage and come in a range of mixed colours including gold, orange, red, peach and yellow.
Nasturtiums make excellent bedding plants and are suitable for growing in rockeries, troughs, tub containers, or large hanging baskets.
All parts of the plant are edible, use to brighten up salads or used in stir-fries, flowers have a peppery taste.
Nasturtium (Tropaeolum) originates from South and Central America.
Grow notes:
Adaptable to most conditions, prefers well-drained moist soil but tolerates nutritionally poor soil.
