An upright growing Wattle that is considered one of the most decorative Wattle’s with its silvery weeping canopy.
Linear leathery leaves with silvery grey foliage. Yellow flowers balls are followed by unusual twisted, knobbly, large seed pods.
It has a wild variety of forms in the wild with a maximum height between 8 and 10 metres although it can often be smaller in dryer regions.
One of the longer lived Wattles this hardy plant grows naturally in areas of seasonal extremes in arid regions often with long dry seasons and monsoonal rains.
Endemic to the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia.
Prefers a sandy well drained soil. Extremely drought tolerant.
For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
