An attractive inverted cone shape shrub that typically grows to 0.5 to 2 m high with slightly hairy branchlets and with persistent narrowly triangular thickened leaf base.
Appealing yellow globular flowers appear at the end of flower stalks from August to November.
As with most species of Acacia, it has phyllodes rather than true leaves.
The obliquely oval or elliptic shape phyllodes are 6 to 15 mm long and 4 to 9 mm wide with two or three raised main nerves
Occurs naturally in the Great Southern region of Western Australia between Albany in the west, Gnowangerup in the north and Ravensthorpe in the east
The best time to sow Acacia seed is:
Cool climates: September to May.
Temperate climates: September to May.
Sub-Tropical climates: August to May
Tropical climates: September to November or March to May.
Arid climates: August to May.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
