A fast growing dense shrub that is well branched forming an attractive shape. Small golden yellow flower balls are produced from the leaf axils in groups of two occurring from July to September
Occurring naturally in South Australia.
Will tolerate many different soils as long as it well drained. Full sun to part shade although flowering will be more profuse in full sun.
Acacia is easy to propagate from seed.
The best time to sow Acacia seed is autumn, Late winter and spring.
- Sow in a well drained mix.
- Soak in water 24 hours
- Next, soak seeds in near boiling water for 24-48 hours,to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
- Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.
- Place in a semi-shaded postion.
- Keep the soil moist, avoid overwatering and ensure it doesn’t dry out.
Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.
