An erect branching shrub typically grows to a height of 1 to 3 metres, producing yellow spherical flowers from April to October.

Like most species of Acacia, it has phyllodes rather than true leaves. The silvery-green phyllodes have a broadly elliptical to rounded shape with a length of 3.5 to 6.5 cm and a width of 30 to 60 mm.
Occurs naturally over northern Australia.

For best results, sow the seeds in spring or early summer. Sowings in autumn and winter may result in slow germination, weaker seedlings, or germination failure.

  1.  soak in water for 24-48 hours.
  2. Next, soak seeds in near boiling water overnight to help soften the tough exterior and improve germination.
  3. Sow the seeds to a depth equal to the seed's width.

Germination: Typically occurs within two weeks.

Please note:

  • Please do not be too hasty to discard seeds that do not germinate; seeds will often lay dormant until the conditions are similar to their natural germination requirements.
  • As with all seeds, they must have adequate water to germinate, keep them moist but not too wet.
  • These growth notes are provided as guidance only and do not guarantee successful germination.
  • The customer should do their due diligence that they are suited to their region.
