Growing to 40cm tall this great variety of basil has a spicy fragrance with a subtle vanilla and fruity overtone. It can be used in any recipe that requires sweet basil flavour, such as marinades, dressings, dips, and chicken and fruit dishes.
Additionally, it has ornamental qualities as its flowers are light purple with deep purple bracts.
The best time to sow the seed is in Spring after the last frost.
- Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before planting. This will help soften the seed coat and speed up the germination process.
- Plant the seeds in well-draining soil as they prefer moist soil but don’t like to be waterlogged.
- Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil and keep them moist but not wet.
- Position the pots in a warm and bright location, but not in direct sunlight.
- Once the seedlings emerge, you can transplant them into individual pots or your garden
Germination: 10 to 21 days.
