Rocky Mountain Penstemon is a perennial that is native to the Rocky Mountain region. It blooms from Spring to mid-summer, producing numerous purple flowers on tall stalks.
An excellent pollinator plant, during mid-spring to early summer, you can find this plant with abundant purple flowers that attract nectar-feeding birds butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects due to its early bloom time.
It grows up to 90cm tall and is recommended for home gardens and meadow planting.
Prefers well-draining soils and full sun or very light shade
The seeds are small, it is best to sow them on the surface, cover lightly and keep them moist.
If growing in trays transplant when large enough to handle.
If sowing for mass plantings scatter on roughened soil and rake cover lightly.
Germination: 14-21 days at a soil temperature of 18-22°C
