Sentinel is an early FI hybrid variety of sweet corn that produces large, extremely sweet corn kernels with an excellent flavour and uniform appearance 22cm in length.
For the best results, it is recommended to grow this variety away from other varieties of sweet corn or at different pollination times, as cross-pollination may reduce its sweetness.
This seed is treated with the fungicides Thiram, Carboxin and Metalaxy.
Seed treatments are highly effective in protecting seeds and seedlings from soil-borne and seed-borne pathogens and insect pests. They also aid in rapid emergence, optimal stand establishment, and strong root growth.
Corn seeds grow best when they are directly sown into the garden.
To sow the seeds correctly, make a hole in the soil about 15-25 mm deep and keep 20-30 cm apart. The rows should be 50-90 cm apart.
It is important to keep the soil moist but not too wet or too dry.
The seeds should germinate in around 5-14 days when the soil temperature is between 16-35°C.
Tropical: Late Summer to Late Spring
