Sweet Basil ‘Siam Queen’ is a lovely basil that produces dark purple flowers on sturdy plants used extensively in Thai, Vietnamese and other ethnic cuisines including curries, soups, fish, and meat dishes and fresh salads.
It can be grown in containers indoors as well as outside.
Basil is native to tropical regions from Central Africa to Southeast Asia. In temperate climates, basil is treated as an annual.
Prefers a sunny position and rich soil but appreciates afternoon shade in hot, dry climates.
The best time to sow the seed is in Spring after the last frost.
Germination: 10 to 21 days.
