Purple Moss Verbena is a spreading perennial with lovely, aromatic fern-like foliage and purple flowers.
Moss Verbena is long-blooming and forms a good ground cover and can be used for permanent erosion control in areas where it is hardy. In colder climates, treat as an annual.
More vigorous than its hybrid cousins, so it is best planted at the front of a mixed border or in a container.
Ancient legends associate Moss Verbena with supernatural power, even telling the story that a plant of this genus was used to prepare the body of Jesus for burial.
Plants are drought tolerant.
